IPL 15 Things! Wait, RSS is not the READING THING?

Posted 10-30-2009 at 06:18 PM by Jzielinski
Well, back to square one, I guess. I'm pretty excited about creating 2 "Things" for the IPL's project...

Unfortunately, I was sorely mistaken about the direction I was going in on one of my "things"?? This is quite a set back seeing that I've been researching RSS sites assuming that's what the "READING THING" was...but it's not

Well, I now know ALOT about RSS feeds/sites if anyone is interested, but I'm sure that the completed RSS THING module will be more comprehensive.

Maybe the READING THING is a module about text-to-speech software, or eBooks, or mp3 downloads...like LIBRIVOX. I'm putting it out there now...If you know, please post me a shout out

Hey Jason,

I exchanged email with Alison this week about some questions I had on social bookmarking. She reminded me that digg.com (and perhaps its friend reddit.com) might be good sites for the reading awareness person to consider in their project. Perhaps those might be a help to you? I am not really addressing them in social bookmarking because they don't include tagging, and the bookmarking aspect is only to make others aware rather than creating an organized collection for oneself. I have never been a heavy user of digg, but I guess you would use it to be more aware of information out there.

I sent you an email - we will be able to use your RSS material as RSS hasn't launched yet and still needed some work, so not to worry.

For Reading, I had a note about Library Thing as an example.
